Begley
Professional Coach
Christina Begley works as a certified integral coach helping clients improve performance, achieve long-term goals, and move toward alignment in their values and actions.
Ms. Begley has worked extensively in the non-profit sector as an executive and board member for various organizations. Her background includes work in a variety of sectors, with an emphasis on community development, conflict resolution and organizational development. She is also a trained mediator and facilitator who has worked closely with the Institute for Study of Alternative Dispute Resolution to develop training models for professionals working in social service industries. Ms. Begley has worked with groups ranging from the LA District Attorney’s Office to the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center to offer facilitation and mediation services and training.
She is an active volunteer in the Bay Area community, working with such organizations as Shanti AIDS/HIV Support Services and community food banks. Ms. Begley holds a Master of Arts degree in Sociology and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations.

Consultant, Health Programs
Tsering is a public health nurse who brings experience and
knowledge in health-based program development, implementation,
and evaluation. She has worked within governmental and non-governmental
organizations at the local and national level.
Tsering, born in Tibet and raised in the Pacific Northwest,
completed her BSN at Creighton University and her MSN/MPH
at Johns Hopkins University. During her time at Johns Hopkins
University, Tsering worked with national governmental organizations
to develop educational programs for minority populations.
Tsering is board certified by the American Nursing Credentialing
Center as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Community
and Public Health Nursing.
Tsering
is a gifted educator and brings knowledge and resources to
our clients in all aspects of comprehensive and effective
program development.
Carolyn
Melenani Kuali`i
Founder & Executive Director, Kua`aina Associates
Carolyn is the Founder and Executive Director of Kua`aina
Associates – a culture and arts organization and is
an independent consultant focused on capacity building assistance
to Native and non-profit communities in the areas of organizational
development, grants management, and program development.
Carolyn’s
involvement with community based organizations also includes:
consultation of culture preservation programs, facilitation
of culture exchange and protocol activities, and organizational
and program development specifically focused on private, state
and federal funded programs. Carolyn is featured in the audio
documentary, Living
Voices, produced by the Smithsonian’s National Museum
of the American Indian for her leadership as a Native contemporary
role model.
Carolyn’s
genealogy comes from the Kuali`i line of the island of Oahu,
and the Mescalaro Apache of Southeastern New Mexico. At birth
she was given to her maternal grandmother Kaena Kuali`i in
the Hawaiian tradition of hanai (adoption), and had the great
fortune of being raised by her grandmother.

Consultant, Program Management
Irma brings 20 years experience working in the non-profit
arena. As a bilingual and bicultural professional, she has
worked in small and large non-profits and within a university
setting. Her experience includes working with health, youth,
and research programs.
Irma practiced public interest law for ten years prior to
becoming a program manager. She has experience in reviewing
proposals, program development and implementation, capacity
building, and fund development.
Irma is committed to working with community based organizations
and believes in seeing a non-profit organization achieve its
mission in a culturally competent manner.
Irma attended UC Berkeley as an undergraduate and received
her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco,
School of Law. She enjoys watching and reviewing movies.

Deborah
Scott, MPH
Principal, Sage Associates
Deborah Scott is the principal of Sage Associates, Inc., a
collaboration of researchers working to improve the organizational
capacity of non-profit organizations. She grew up in Oklahoma
and relocated to Texas to complete an undergraduate degree
in marketing from the University of Houston, and a Masters’
in Public Health at the University of Texas, Health Sciences
Center in Houston.
Since 1992, she has had the opportunity to work with many
social service organizations and the populations they serve,
including projects with homeless individuals, recently and
currently incarcerated individuals, refugees, substance abuse
treatment facilities, children and youth with HIV/AIDS, grant
writing and fund development. She has served as the Director
of Evaluation for a national organization serving Native American
populations and has worked on a local level with tribes and
urban Indians. She is a Tribally Recognized Organization,
(TERO Certified) and a registered member of Cherokee Nation.
